Fishtown has become popular during the last few years with real estate developers, and out of town buyers. The distance to Penns Landing, walking trails along the Delaware River, close shopping mall strips, and a view of the city in your immediate sites make it very attractive for many to call home.

You can feel the close net community spirit whenever you visit there.  With  new real estate development many restaurants, cafe's, and bars have opened and those that were already around have greatly flourished. With the expansion of business's and real estate here, homeowners have benefited from a nice spike in home equity.

Fishtown is immediately northeast of Center City, its borders are somewhat disputed today due to many factors, but are roughly defined by the triangle created by the Delaware River, Frankford Avenue, and York Street. Newer residents of the area consider it to go all the way up to Lehigh Avenue, while some older residents maintain the upper border to be Norris Street.
